Great Wall in China

The Great Wall winds up and down across deserts,
grasslands, mountains and plateaus, stretching
approximately 8,851.8 kilometers from east to west of
China.

IT was built over 2,000 years ago, by Qin Shi Huangdi,
the first emperor of China
It was continuously built from the 3rd century BC to
the 17th century AD on the northern border of the
country as the great military defence project of
successive Chinese Empires. The complete route of the
Great Wall over 20,000  kilometers, as well as elements
constructed in different historical periods which
constitute the complicated defence system of the
property, including walls, fortresses, passes and
beacon towers,  have been preserved to the present day.
It one of the greatest wonders of the world, was listed
as a World Heritage by UNESCO in 1987.
