What is Mesothelioma

Posted by at 6:14 PM

This is a cancer of the mesothelium, the membrane that covers your organs. This membrane covers all the organs in the body and makes a fluid that allows them to move easily. For example, your heart moves as it beats, and it needs this membrane to be healthy and flexible for it.

With mesothelioma, the cells of the membrane become abnormal and begin dividing. This is a rare condition that is only caused by exposure to asbestos. It is especially deadly because symptoms may not appear until well after it is quite advanced. There is no known cure, but drug therapy and chemotherapy can help relieve suffering.

Online Marketing (Article Marketing Tips)

Posted by at 6:02 PM
Online marketing is a large topic, and the following article marketing tips comprise just a small part of it. The term does not refer to the actual article writing, but rather in its purer sense of how articles should be marketed to achieve their intended purpose. So before you even commence writing an article, you should first be fully aware of how it will be used and how it should be constructed to meet that objective.

What is Article Marketing?

The term is grossly misuse by those who should know better, including myself. Technically, the term refers to the marketing of articles, and not to the use of articles in marketing. However, to press this point would be leave one open to accusation of pedantry, often by those guilty of the same sin in their own fields on online marketing.

Fundamentally, articles can be used to advertise websites, and through them promote products. Article writing, whether for website content or for submission to article directories, generally involves the description of a topic and its solution, or a review of a product or website. It should fundamentally provide interesting information that people will read, and generally offers a link at the end which readers can use to get to a website offering more information or a product that can help solve the problem.

Article Submission Rules

There are several rules that have developed over the years, both by the directory administrators and by the search engines that publish them online. Here are a few of these rules applied by Google of which you should be aware when you use article marketing to promote your website or products in online marketing.

Word Count: The length of your article should be no less than 400 words. Many say 500, but although Google will list 400-word content, many article directories will accept no less than 500 words. Personally, I will write no less than 500 words for my clients.

Keywords: The use of keywords is rapidly becoming redundant. Excessive use of pertinent words can now be punished, and Ezine Articles accepts no more than a 2% keyword density (KD) for published articles. Back in the day, pages upon pages of Adsense articles could be generated with multiple-figure keyword counts - sometimes as high as 10% or even more. Then it was reduce to around 5%, but now even 3% is too much.

On-Topic: Your articles must be on-topic: the Google latent semantic indexing (LSI) algorithm checks your use of vocabulary and not only makes sure that you remain within the keyword guidelines but also that your content is faithful to the topic. This algorithm is programmed to recognize synonyms of the search terms people use to find information, and list those that appear most relevant to those terms.

If your page is filled with keywords but little content, the LSI algorithm will pick up on that and reject your page. Good content with no specific keywords can now get a high ranking. Keywords are not redundant yet, but are becoming increasingly less important, and you can get a high listing for a keyword that is contained only in the first and last paragraphs as well as in the title.

Marketing Articles

You can market your promotional articles in many different ways. Here are a few:

Web page content
Article directories
PDF Directories (e.g. Scribd, DocShare)
Social networking sites ( e.g. Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Friendster)
Social Bookmarking sites (e.g. StumbleUpon, Digg, Reddit, Delicious)
Squidoo lenses
Video Directories (e.g. YouTube)

And there are many more types of website that accept articles or videos as promotional items.

When marketing your articles you should be certain that they will be read. Your fist step is to make sure they are published in popular directories, and that the topic is a popular one. If not, then at least make your title exciting and entice people to read the article. Once you have them there then keep them there until they reach the link to your website. By taking these article marketing tips, you success with online marketing should improve significantly.

Step-By-Step Documentation For Making A Logo Design

Posted by at 5:59 PM
----------------
Quite a few important matters have to be taken into consideration ahead of the conceptualization phase of creating a logo, and the work of a Logo Design Company begins with procuring such information. A logo is the much required element in a company's or a business's image. ----------------
It should speak a lot about the company, just by its existence alone. While it's true that a perfect logo could make an enhanced presentation of a company's profile than a few typed pages of the same, it's more than accurate that an awful one could spoil it perpetually.

----------------
So, it becomes of utmost importance that the logo has to be designed to serve the purpose to the fullest. We have to take into consideration the business's type of services, type of clients, and its exceptional way of rendering its services. Only after examining all these points, we can reach the concept stage, and then only we should begin the procedure of creating the logo, that is, the figure part.

----------------
The actual digital-drawing stage of the logo can be done with any software, like, Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, etc. In this guide, we will see how a logo can be created with Adobe Photoshop.

----------------
We are about to create a simple Text logo for this purpose in this article.

Let us create a logo that states 'Creation', and let us also call this assignment as 'Creation'.

----------------
First, The Background: Open your Photoshop, go to FILE, and then NEW. In the 'Name' field, type 'Project Creation Logo', put the width at 300, Height at 100, Resolution at 72 psi, all in pixels. Keep the Color Mode RGB (8 bit if possible), background as White, and click the OK button.

----------------
Now for the background, select the Gradient tool. Can you view the Image and Layer at the top, next to File and Edit? Directly beneath that, you can view the Gradient Box. Click on it to edit or create the gradient.

----------------
There will be a new window appearing, named Gradient Editor, and near its base you can see the gradient bar with its color stop indents tags. Slide these tags left or right to arrive at a new gradient of your preference, and then click the 'New' button in that window to save this additional gradient design, which you can name 'creative'. In this guide, we are putting the gradient type as 'Solid', Smoothness as 100%, and the bottom field that says 'Location' as 30. Click the OK button.

----------------
Again go and click on gradient tool, and from the Gradient Editor window choose the 'creative' gradient that we have just created. By the side of the Gradient Box, you can see 5 different styles of gradient selections, the center one is called 'angle gradient', go for that.

----------------
Now, set the crosswire cursor on the fully white background of Project Creation Logo image box. Set it somewhere near the middle left and left click once. Keeping the mouse button pressed, drag a horizontal line to the right and let it go near the end. You would now see a pattern on the display. You can try different patterns, by toying with the placement and releasing points of the cursor, and the angle of the line drawn. But more of that at the end of this article, after you have fully completed learning through this guide.

----------------
We have created a background for the Logo at this stage.

Generating Text layer: In this stage, we can utilize any special Fonts, but in our tutorial we are going to use an existing font, Century Gothic. Setting it at Regular and at 72pt, go for the Text tool, and click it on the Project Creation Logo image, and type the word 'Creation'. The typed word 'Creation' shall be considered as a layer, so, to work on this Text we should click on and pull down Layer, then go to Layer Style.

----------------
You can make a single layer each for each character, for different looks. In this simple tutorial we would treat the whole word as one, hence we would be utilizing the whole word, 'Creation', as one layer.

----------------
After typing the text 'Creation', click the Move tool, and move the 'Creation' layer to anywhere near the beginning of the gradient background. Don't be anxious if some part of the word is out of sight by the darker part of the background, it's but normal.

----------------
Go to Layer, Layer Style, and then go to Blending Options. Now you can see the Layer Style - Blending Options window. Mark on Inner Glow, Bevel and Emboss - Contour, right click on Inner Glow, and set up in the resulting table the following as, Structure - Blend Mode - Normal, Opacity - 75%, Noise - 0%. Below the Noise level adjustment you can see the color selection, click on it and make it green. In the Elements, set the - Technique - Softer, Source - Edge, Choke - 0, size - 250. Leave the Quality adjustment as it is, don't touch it.

----------------
We have taken the above adjustments just for our tutorial, but like the background gradient creation you can try plenty of varieties with the controls that are available in the blending layer style window. Also, I have kept the figure of the text 'Creation', the way it was, but if you need to alter the contour to something else you like better, choose that layer, and go to Edit, Transform, and apply the settings you find in there.

----------------
Next comes an extra image to augment our Text Logo. This is again an option. Here we have taken an outline of a tree. Get this image, the outline of a tree figure, from somewhere you find it, and save in your hard disk. Open it as a separate image in the Photoshop, make sure that all its outlines (vectors) are closed, and then using the Magic Wand Tool, cut out just the outline of the tree, then pick the Move tool and put it on the Project Creation Logo image. Set it anywhere you like. Here, we are setting it just like standing next to that text, 'Creation', as if offering it some shadow.

----------------
Since this is going to be a new layer, go to Layer, and then Layer Style, and then click on Blending Options. Just do here what you have done for the text 'Creation' layer, but as for color, change it to brown or whatever you feel fitting.

You have at your liberty to try and experiment with all those controls and adjustments, and lastly when you arrive at the final Text Logo image that you see right on the display, hit Save, go to Layer again, and Flatten Image.

Now you have your Text Logo, right there on the monitor.

----------------
Once again let's be reminded that prior to beginning the work, the Logo Designers should take in all the fine points about the business and make a decision on how the Logo should look like.

Why Can't I Just Have One Great Source of Traffic?

Posted by at 5:56 PM
Q: Why can't I just pick one great source of traffic, stick with that, and put all my efforts there?

A: That's a great question because what you're getting at is trying to get to ease of use and working smarter instead of harder, working less and getting more results.

The problem is in this age old saying:

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. The reason why these age-old sayings stay around is there is some wisdom to them.

Here is how it works online. Let's say you got all your traffic from Facebook. Not a bad source of traffic and certainly one you want to have in your arsenal of traffic. However, if all your traffic came from Facebook, and that was your only source of traffic, you've got a problem.

You don't own Facebook. You don't own your presence on Facebook. Your presence on Facebook is owned and therefore, controlled by Facebook.

So what happens if they charge part of their rules about traffic, and it doesn't fit for you or doesn't work for you. Or even worse, as happened to many, many people, what happens if for some reason, your Facebook account gets shut down, and there goes your one and only source of traffic?

An important business lesson

This is a business lesson I learned years ago when I was a marriage and family therapist in private practice and was building traffic sources. What we call in that business referral sources, where my referrals came from.

I had it made in terms of referrals once I started writing a weekly column for the local newspaper. From '86 to '94, I didn't have the column, had multiple sources of referrals and traffic. Started writing that column, and it became a huge, enormous source of traffic and referrals and I loved it.

One of the best business decisions I ever made though was not to rely on that single source of referral or that single source of traffic because I did not control it. It was controlled by the newspapers. And in a sense, I served at their pleasure.

Although it was only supposed to be for six months to a year, it ended up -- it still goes on now nationally and internationally, the local newspaper decided not to run it anymore after 10 years. So what would have happened if I had relied on that as my sole and only source of traffic, and then it dried up?

I would have been in big trouble professionally, but because I had and still maintained, even though I had this one great source of traffic, I still kept all my other sources of traffic working so that when that time came in '04, and there was no longer that source of traffic, that it was okay. I still had all my other sources of traffic.

So yeah, use one, and maybe it might be your primary one, but always, always, have multiple sources of traffic because then you're safe.

Another way to think of it is let's say that you're going to sit down and have a meal. Your table has one leg. How stable would that table be? Didn't mean for that to rhyme, but it did. How stable would that table be?

I want to eat at a table with multiple legs and multiple supports. That way, if one gets taken away, that table still has an opportunity to stand. You want it to be the same way with your traffic.

Link Your Website To Twitter, Facebook, Google+ And Other Social Media

Posted by at 5:54 PM
----------------
Any major business now has links to their Facebook, Twitter and Google+ littered all over their websites. And probably LinkedIn, Pinterest, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Digg, Tumblr and Flickr as well.

Why?

----------------
Well, because the way people communicate online is changing. Fast. A successful company can no longer expect to have a static website and simply change the graphic every year. Companies and businesses are developing online to be more and more like offline businesses. They are recreating the personal ----------------
physical contacts and relationships they have with their customers online. But now their customer base just got potentially bigger to the tune of 6 billion!

Consumers online are savvy and they aren't necessarily just looking for a one stop shop. Customers are engaging in dialogue about your business whether you like it or not!

----------------
For example, if you sell screwdrivers and a customer buys a set from you. If they really like the screwdrivers, they will take a photo of them and upload them to Facebook and tag your business. What better recommendation and solid word of mouth advertising could you ask for?

----------------
Now, turn the example around. The screwdrivers aren't what your customer expected and they take to Twitter to vent their views. If you are on Twitter, you can quickly reply apologising and offering to look into it, maybe send a second set and more than likely your prompt customer service will lead to the Tweeter sending a message of thanks directed @yourbusiness. However, if you aren't on Twitter, how can you know what people are saying about you and manage it? Your business name could be being trashed all over town and you would have no idea why your sales are slumping.

----------------
Reviews and ratings by customers across social media are so important to your business for 2 reasons.

Firstly, they are important because personal reviews carry a huge amount of weight on the internet, more so than in the high street. In a clothes shop you can touch the fabric, check the size but online you have to trust photos and written measurements. So if 15 users have highly rated the clothes seller for quality, it builds your business reputation and status online. So the more your business ----------------
is reviewed, praised and highlighted and the more you respond positively and effectively to negative feedback; the more you cement your business brand. You can invite people to rate you and mention across social media platforms with simple buttons on your site and feedback emails.
----------------
Secondly, reviews and ratings are important because the more you are talked about (especially positively) the higher your rankings will soar on search engines. Social media are great methods of boosting SEO. I helped a travel website set up their Twitter, Facebook and Google+. ----------------
Their keywords received 165000 searches monthly on Google and the first 10 pages on Google were taken up by major travel agencies. Within 1 week, they were on page 1 through the dialogues they were engaged in on Twitter! Social media can mean the difference between your site receiving 3 visits a week and 3000 if you are clever enough.

----------------
Twitter

Twitter is a great tool for your business because it allows you to answer FAQs, directly talk to customers, advertise and network. The # feature that lets people search by topic means that you can follow your niche topics and always make sure you are part of the conversation. The more useful your input, the more your business will be promoted and favourite and the more you will be viewed as an expert in your field.

Facebook

----------------
Facebook is ridiculously powerful. When you search any subject in Google, Facebook is bound to plaster at least part of the front page. It is superbly designed for SEO. A great feature over Twitter is the fact that customers can post on your page or tag you but you can control what is said about you and take down what you don't like. So if you have a customer post a compliment, you can highlight, share and promote it, but if you are trolled (users posting vile slurs) you can have it removed immediately with little chance of your customers becoming aware of it.

Google+

----------------
The major benefit of Google+ is that it contains the word Google. Google+ is owned by Google and is already a major challenger of Twiter and Facebook and much of that is down to rankings. The more Google+ circles you are a part of, the more you post to your Google+ page, the more people who +1 your information posts and pages; the higher your Google search ranking goes. Google+ is one of the most powerful ways to boost traffic to your site.

----------------
The other social media platforms such as StumbleUpon, Tumblr and Reddit are all useful and popular as well. However, for a successful online business, you need to check and update (with useful posts) your Twitter, Facebook and Google+ accounts twice a day, whereas the other social can be updated as and when you have the time.
